School Catering
City Catering have been the main provider of school meals in the Stoke-on-Trent area for over twenty years and we are now delighted to offer our tasty and delicious meal service to all the schools within the Painsley Catholic Academy.
We recognise that children eating well is one of the essential foundations of building a sound and sustainable society and our main focus is promoting the health and wellbeing of all the pupils in your school. We do this by providing meals that deliver both quality and value, whilst meeting all the requirements of statutory school food legislation, with menus that are designed to provide a variety of flavour, colour and texture, combined with balanced nutrition.
We are also fully compliant with new food standards for school food along with the regulations and guidance regarding allergens and food labelling, having full documentation to evidence the ingredients used in products and recipes. Additionally, we have a dedicated, fully qualified, Healthy Eating Facilitator who can meet with the parents of pupils who require a special diet due to medical conditions. Wherever possible we endeavour to provide the pupil with a meal similar to their peers.
We use fresh produce delivered daily to schools, including seasonal fruit and vegetables (we support and endorse the ‘5 a day’ campaign), meat and locally baked bread. This is then prepared by our fully trained and dedicated teams, meaning that over 80% of your child’s meal is homemade using quality ingredients sourced locally wherever possible.
City Catering holds the ‘Food for Life Silver Catering Mark’, and our menus are independently endorsed by the Soil Association. This award acknowledges that excellent meals are produced using quality ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible, using free range eggs, farm assured/organic meat (assured animal welfare standards in place, sourced in the UK with low food miles) and fish from sustainable sources (certified by the Marine Stewardship Council). And we continue to win a wide variety of industry recognised awards for quality and service delivery.
