Silent Fundraising Success
Sixth Form student, D’Arcy Morris, surprised family, friends and teachers with her ability to remain silent for a whole 24 hours. Her sponsored silence raised £307 which she presented to NHS staff.
Usually quite a chatty character, the 17-year-old decided to raise money for the local Brockington Mother and Baby Unit at St George’s Hospital, Stafford, where they specialise in treating post-natal depression.
D’Arcy is currently studying Biology and Health and Social Care, and hopes to go on to study Midwifery at university. Learning just how this money will help the good work carried out at the hospital has inspired her further.
“I was never really that active with fund raising in my younger years, however, I felt that it was time to do something that would challenge myself and reward others. Seeing just how grateful the staff at the hospital were, and just what a difference the money I raised can make to the lives of patients, has been really motivating.” D’Arcy said
