BBC celebrates BWH Live Teaching

We are extremely proud of the work our students and staff have been doing in relation to remote learning and live lessons. As a school, and across the Painsley MAC, we have been offering provision that is unique and has enabled us to ensure our students can continue to receive quality teaching allowing them to make progress.

We know our staff team and students have worked incredibly hard to make this provision possible and we were delighted for this work to be recognised by the BBC.

On Thursday 11th June Mr Vince was lucky enough to be a live guest on BBC 5Live breakfast show, discussing the fantastic work that staff and students are doing at BWH. You can listen again to this interview via the link below. The segment begins at 1hr 44minutes into the breakfast show.

On the back of this interview the BBC Midlands Today cameras arrived at school to interview staff, students, and parents, as well as film the live lessons in action. This aired on BBC on Midlands Today news programme on 11th June at 18:30. You can view the report again on the link below:

What was even more fantastic was that the news report was presented by Midlands Today reporter and former pupil of Blessed William Howard, Elizabeth Glinka!

A huge thanks to Mr Brown, Mrs McKie, Georgia Ridley-Flood in Year 10, Reece Watkins in Year 12 and Mrs Flood who all appeared on the report! TV super stars!

All of us at Blessed William Howard are extremely proud of what are students and staff have achieved during this difficult period.
